Get ready to shake, rattle, and roll at the 2nd Annual Boogie for Buddies! Local dance and fitness instructors will lead mini classes in a variety of types of movement, like dance, yoga, and aerobics.
Come for one class or stay for the whole afternoon! This event is open to all Best Buddies participants and to the general public, and is friendly to all ages and ability levels.
Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the door with cash or check (made payable to Best Buddies Rhode Island)

Spread the Word to End the Word is a campaign created by youth, in an ongoing effort with Special Olympics and Best Buddies International, to engage schools, organizations and communities by raising the consciousness of society about the dehumanizing and hurtful effects of the word
On March 3, 2010, youth are leading the second annual day of awareness to Spread the Word to End the Word by encouraging people to rally and pledge their support at www.r-word.org with the goal of reaching 100,000 pledges.

Best Buddies staff is recruiting volunteers to join their BUILD Committee. The committee will work to plan the BUILD training sessions for the Buddies, assist the Buddies as speech coaches, and help secure resources so that Buddies can attend the Best Buddies National Leadership Conference in July.

Celebrate Best Buddies Month this March with Best Buddies Rhode Island!
Chaired by Patriots Quarterback, Tom Brady the Audi Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port is a 100, 50 and 20-mile cycling adventure from the JFK Library in Boston to Craigville Beach, near the Kennedy Compound on Cape Cod, with an optional 5K run and 3K walk. The ride is followed by celebrity tandem races, a lobster clambake and a private concert.
Join Team Rhode Island as we cycle, run and walk from Boston through historic New England villages and parks, past the Kennedy Compound, to the beach on Cape Cod.

FLAME is a group from upstate New York made up of 11 people with developmental/physical disabilities, including autism, Downs syndrome, mental retardation and blindness. The band from Lexington Center, Fulton County Chapter, NYSARC, Inc., wants to change the world through music. They are a musical phenomenon that inspires people and changes the way the general public view people with disabilities.
